The US President appeared distracted and tired as Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley delivered an important speech on her nations' role in tackling climate change. During other speeches, Joe Biden was filmed closing his eyes for long periods of time. Washington Post journalist Zach Pursur Brown recorded the President "falling asleep".

       But Mr Biden appeared to not be too engrossed in the speech.

       He can be seen looking down at the floor and closing his eyes during the speech.

       But the camera appears to pan off the President quickly when it is clear he is not listening as intently as he probably should

       But the President's apparent boredom did not go unnoticed by onlookers.

       Twitter user @JoanHenry7 slammed: "The camera had to shift off Joe Biden pretty quick, as he closed eyes for a few moments too long.

       "Poor bloke. I hope he's got a lift home."

       While @PortisRedux mocked: "Biden must be really bored!"

       But other users were more sympathetic to the President.

       @SirAtkinson Tweeted: "As much as you want to lay in to him about this, I can’t imagine how tedious these are."

       The embarassing moment for the President comes as the UK is hosting COP26, the international climate change summit in Glasgow, seen as crucial to bringing the climate crisis under control.

       The goal is to keep warming limited to 1.5C by 2100 despite the the world being currently on track for 2.7C.

       The UN have warned if temperatures are allowed to rise this high, there will be a "climate catastrophe".
