EDINBURGH, Scotland (Kyodo) -- Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and U.S. President Joe Biden agreed in their first meeting Tuesday to enhance the bilateral alliance and closely cooperate in realizing a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
Kishida and Biden had a brief conversation on the sidelines of the U.N. climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.
Kishida is making his first foreign trip as the Japanese leader following Sunday's general election in which his governing coalition won a comfortable majority in the House of Representatives.
