Cops issue RM171,000 in fines after raiding two entertainment outlets in KL

       KUALA LUMPUR: Police issued RM171,000 worth of compound notices after raiding two entertainment outlets at Cheras and Dang Wangi.

       Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said a team from the Cheras police headquarters raided the outlet at around 11.45pm.

       "We arrested a local man and two foreign women who were allegedly operating the outlet without a valid license.

       "We also are investigating the outlet for selling alcoholic beverages without a valid license as well as hiring foreign workers without valid permits," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 19).

       He said police also seized various items including bottles of liquor during the raid.

       "We issued 146 compound notices for various standard operating procedure violations to workers and patrons at the entertainment outlet.

       "In total, we issued RM146,000 worth of compound notices," he said urging the public to come forward with any information on criminal or suspicious activity.

       Meanwhile, Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police raided an entertainment outlet at Lorong Haji Taib Dua at around 1am on Saturday.

       "We initially detained 16 men and 11 women including a foreign man and foreign woman aged between 35 and 41.

       "We issued 25 people RM1,000 compound notices for standard operating procedure violations," he said, adding that the two foreigners have been detained to assist further investigations.
