KOTA KINABALU: Foreigners entering Sabah after April 1 will no longer need special entry permission, state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic) said.

“From April 1, Sabah is open to everyone who complies with the standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the Health Ministry.

“We will try to make it easy for foreigners to visit the state if they comply with all the pre-departure protocols set by the Federal Government,” he said.

Among the SOP announced by the Health Ministry were for travellers to download, register and activate the MySejahtera app and complete a travel declaration form, including vaccination information, that can be accessed via the Traveller icon in the MySejahtera app.

Foreigners must have both Covid-19 and travel insurance, and state the address of their residence while in Malaysia.

Other requirements for travellers include uploading the results of their PCR test done two days before departure.

Those infected with Covid-19 six to 60 days before departure must upload the results of their Rapid Test Kit Antigen (RTK-Ag) done two days before departure.
