QUETTA: A Full Scale Emer-gency Exercise was conducted at Quetta International Airport in accordance with national aviation safety and preparedness protocols.
Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail graced the event as a chief guest.
Distinguished guests included Base Commander PAF, CSO ASF, cabinet ministers and advisers from the provincial government. Balochistan DG health, SP Airport, president Chamber of Commerce, Deputy Commandant ANF, Director Coordination government of Balochistan, representatives from airlines, PAA officials, and other airport stakeholders.
The exercise commenced with a briefing by Airport Manager Waheed Malik. In his address, the Balochistan governor emphasised the importance of preparedness in dealing with emergency situations. Guests were then escorted airside to witness live demonstrations.
The demonstrations included an emergency simulation on a Learjet 45 (LJ45) provided by the Balochistan government, a mock aircraft fire and evacuation scenario using a passenger bus and participation of leading agencies such as Pakistan Air Force, ASF, PDMA, Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation, Pakistan Red Crescent, government hospitals, and Pak Army Aviation.
A major highlight of the exercise was the use of a Pakistan Army Aviation MI-17 helicopter to simulate the airlifting of critically injured passengers.
All participating agencies showcased professionalism and efficiency in carrying out their assigned roles.
