KAJANG: Teenager Ain Husniza has lodged a police report over explicit comments made by another individual online.

       Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan confirmed receiving a report from a 17-year-old girl, who claimed that the offending post was accompanied with her photo and obscene words.

       "The complainant claimed that the act was committed by her former school mate.

       "The suspect then deleted the photo after the complainant called him," he said when contacted on Sunday (Dec 26).

       The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998, he added.

       "We advise the public to always be cautious with statements and postings that could be defamatory on social media, as action can be taken against the perpetrators," he added.

       Ain's father Saiful Nizam, in a series of tweets, previously shared a screenshot of the post that he alleged had been posted by the same boy.
