PUTRAJAYA: The Prime Minister and Ministers’ Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house function on Sunday (May 8) has been extended for another two hours to allow more members of the public to attend the event.

       The event, which began at 10am was initially slated to end at 4pm, but has now been extended to 6pm.

       “The Open House Function has been extended to 6pm on the Prime Minister’s instruction to give the public an opportunity (to attend the event),” his office said in a brief message to the press.

       Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah graced the event that was hosted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Cabinet members.

       It was estimated that around 100,000 visitors comprising dignitaries and members of the public attended the event at Seri Perdana here.

       The last time the Open House was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence was in 2019 before Covid-19 hit Malaysian shores.

       It was hosted by then prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his Pakatan Harapan cabinet.
