A CSX Transportation railway track was temporarily closed early Wednesday after a tour bus ran off the road and crashed into the woods near the Shady Grove Metro station in Montgomery County.
The bus penetrated one of the railway tracks and struck one of the track’s beds, said Pete Piringer, spokesman for the county fire and rescue service. Service on the track has resumed, Piringer said shortly before noon.

Montgomery County officials responded to the incident around 6:30 a.m. to help extricate the driver, after the vehicle ran into some heavy brush near the parking garage loop between Interstate 395 and Redland Road. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
The bus driver was extricated by Montgomery County officials around 7 a.m. No injuries were reported.
