KUALA LUMPUR: It is only just if all lawmakers from both sides of the political divide are given their allocations, says Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang(PN-Marang)

While delivering his speech on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address, Abdul Hadi said all elected representatives must be treated fairly.

“Regardless of who is the government after the elections, they must be given an allocation whether they are with the government or the opposition,” he said.

“This is what is called being fair, because taxes are collected from all. Clothes are taxed, services are taxed. They don’t ask whether the person (supports) the government or opposition,” he added.

He also took a swipe at the Madani concept.

“We don’t know what is Madani,” he said.

Previously, six Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia MP’s declared their support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, saying that they did so to gain extra allocations for their respective constituencies.

Anwar had previously said that expressing support for the Prime Minister is not a condition for equal government allocation for MPs.
