IPOH: A woman who was supposed to be charged in court for spreading false information that two students here had died after receiving their Covid-19 vaccination has gone missing.

       The Perak police had been looking for her ever since she failed to attend the first court proceedings on Jan 21.

       Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid in a statement said Liyana Razali (pic) failed to turn up despite the court giving another date on Feb 10.

       "The court had then issued an arrest warrant when she failed to turn up the second time.

       "All efforts have been made to trace the said person, but we could not locate or contact her," he added.

       Comm Mior Faridalathrash thus was seeking help from the public to contact the police if they know about her whereabouts or any other information.

       He said she had on Sept 28 last year made the false statement, and upon investigating the claim, police found that the information was false.

       He added that investigating papers were submitted to the deputy public prosecution’s office, and they received orders to charge her under Section 505 (B) of the Penal Code for causing public distress and alarm.
