Prince Harry flew into the UK from the US on Friday and is currently self isolating in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's UK home. He is due to be reunited with his brother Prince William on July 1 in only the second public appearance together since Harry moved to the US and finalised his split from his senior role in the Royal Family.
William and Harry’s relationship is “still very much strained”, a source claimed before the Duke of Sussex arrived in the UK this week.
And now royal author has claimed the brothers quarrelled at their last reunion, the funeral of their grandfather Prince Philip.
Tensions are said to be high after Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle made explosive claims in a string of interviews.
In an interview with Oprah the couple levelled racism accusations at the Royal Family, while Prince Harry in solo endeavours appeared to criticise his upbringing.
The racism allegation sparked an unusual response from William, who broke the royal mantra of ‘never complain, never explain’ to insist the Royal Family was not racist when confronted by a journalist at an even shortly after the Oprah interview aired.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Mr Lacey, author of Battle of Brothers and consultant to Netflix's The Crown, said: “They started quarrelling again.”
A friend of the family told Mr Lacey: “There they were, at each other's throats as fiercely as ever.

Ian Lloyd, author of 'The Duke: 100 Chapters in the Life of Prince Philip', told Express.co.uk: "I don't think people would stomach such a vast ceremony.
“If you look back to the Queen's coronation, it took one year to plan it.

8am update: Queen dealing with 'difficult' Commonwealth crisis after Prince Harry and Meghan row
Her Majesty has been forced to deal with a Commonwealth crisis following a "difficult period" this year due to the Covid restrictions and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interviews, it has been claimed.
Sandy Biar, national director at Australian Republic Movement, said Harry and Meghan have already shown why the monarchy is "ridiculous".
He told Express.co.uk: "Harry and Meghan's interview earlier this year highlighted the ridiculousness of having a foreign monarch as Australia’s head of state.
"Australians need a head of state, chosen by Australians and accountable to them, rather than a family that lurches from crisis to crisis.
"As more Australians come to see how out of touch the British Monarchy is, the more we'll see the momentum continue to increase.”
