A 26-year-old Maryland man was fatally shot Thursday night in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.

       The shooting occurred about 11:45 p.m. in the first block of 53rd Street SE, just off East Capitol Street.

       Police identified the victim as Traevon Felton of Oxon Hill. Online records also show him linked to an address near where he was shot.

       Authorities said officers responded to calls for gunshots and found Felton. They said he was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made.

       No other details were made available.
