Meghan Markle 'ruffled feathers' of royal aides with refusal to 'change' for monarchy

Meghan Markle "immediately ruffled feathers" after marrying Prince Harry due to her "driven" work ethic, says a royal expert. These claims come as an ongoing inquiry takes place at Buckingham Palace to examine the bullying allegations made by Palace staff against the Duchess of Sussex.

Royal expert Omid Scobie said told ITV documentary 'Harry and William: What Went Wrong?': "Meghan came in driven and ready to work and that immediately ruffled feathers.

"She's a woman well into her thirties, I think she's proven to herself and the people she's worked with up to that point that she knows what she's doing.

"She's certainly not someone who was going to change herself just to please the people around her."

Meghan Markle became a member of the Royal Family after she married Prince Harry in May 2018.

The former Suits actress met the Prince on a blind date during the summer of 2016.

They kept their relationship private until November 2016, when Prince Harry issued a statement condemning journalists for harassing Meghan, stating that a "line had been crossed".

Following their wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor, the couple became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and moved into Kensington Palace.

However, rumours of difficulties began to emerge after Prince William and Prince Harry decided to split their royal households later that year.

Meghan and Harry went on to found their own charitable endeavour, Sussex Royal, and moved into Frogmore Cottage.

According to royal reports, the source of the rift came after Prince William was made aware of the bullying accusations made against Meghan Markle.

Complaints included the Duchess sending Palace aides emails at 5am and reducing a PA to tears.

Meghan Markle has denied the allegations of bullying, saying they are part of a 'calculated smear campaign' to discredit her character.

A spokesperson for the couple said, "The Duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma."

Prince Harry also revealed that the allegations left his wife crying in bed the night before their Oprah interview aired.

Relations between the Royal Family and the Sussexes have been strained since the couple announced their intention to step away from the Royal Family last January.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have relocated to North America and currently reside in California with their two young children.
