PETALING JAYA: With the nomination centres for the Johor election set to open at 9am Saturday (Feb 26), candidates began making their way there as early as 8am.
Among the early birds was Parti Pejuang Tanah Air's Bukit Kepong candidate Md Taib Md Suhut, who arrived at the nomination centre in Pagoh at 7.50am.
In Puteri Wangsa, Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) candidate Amira Aisya was the first to arrive at the nomination centre at Dewan Raya Taman Pelangi Indah at 8.10am.
Perikatan Nasional's Datuk Isa Ab Hamid, who is standing in the Benut state seat, arrived at the nomination centre at Dewan Serbaguna Benut with his proposer and seconder at about 8.15am.
In Bukit Gambir, Pejuang candidate Suraya Sulaiman was the first to arrive at the nomination centre at 8.22am.
The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) candidate for Larkin, Rasid Abu Bakar, meanwhile, arrived at the nomination centre at Dewan JKR (D) Johor Baru at 8.25am.
Hairi Mad Shah, who is Barisan Nasional's candidate for the seat, arrived at the nomination centre at about 8.35am.
Dr Maszlee Malik, who is Pakatan Harapan's candidate for Layang Layang, arrived at the nomination center in the Simpang Renggam District Council office at 8.35am.
Nominations for the Johor polls are set to close at 10am Saturday.
