MELAKA: Firefighters helped to lift the body of a 33-year-old woman weighing about 230kg after she died suddenly at her home in Cheng here.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department operation chief Zulkhairani Ramli said the woman's lifeless body was found by her husband at their home in Taman Desa Damai, in Cheng here at 3am on Thursday (July 22).
He said the woman was lying on a sofa and her husband failed to resuscitate her before seeking help.
Zulkhairani said the department was informed by the police to help transfer the body to the Melaka Hospital's Forensic Unit.
He said his men arrived at the house at about 7am and lifted the body onto a truck before completing the whole task in about an hour.
"We were told that the deceased was an asthma patient. The deceased's husband shared with us that his wife weighed about 230kg," he said.
Zulkhairani said ten personnel were involved in lifting the body.
"My men were all in personal protective equipment when executing the task," he said on Thursday (July 22).
