KLANG: A midday fire left two shoplots in Pandamaran here partially destroyed.
Fire and Rescue operations commander Razif Mohmad Haris said they received a distress call about the fire at around 1.12pm on Thursday (June 9).
“Fire engines from the Klang, Andalas and Kota Raja fire stations with 21 personnel were dispatched to the scene,” he said.
"They arrived at about 1.33pm and put out the fire shortly after," added Razif, who said that no one was injured in the incident.
He added that the cause of the fire was under investigation.
In an unrelated case earlier, Fire and Rescue personnel retrieved the body of a man from a drain in the same area.
Fire and Rescue team supervisor Nadzri Mazyani said they were informed of the discovery of the body at about 8.17am.
"We dispatched a team of six firemen and a fire engine from the Port Klang Fire Station to the scene.
"We retrieved the body of a 44-year-old man from the monsoon drain," he said.
The body was then handed over to police for further action, he added.
