KUWAIT CITY, April 8: In a recent announcement, the Acting Secretary General of Kuwait University and the university’s official spokesperson, Prof. Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, revealed significant changes to the official working system set to commence after the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Prof. Dr. Al-Dhafiri, the new system will introduce three distinct working arrangements for heads of work centers and university employees holding administrative and technical positions, excluding academic and supporting academic personnel. This restructuring aligns with Civil Service Commission Resolution No. (3) of 2023, which addresses setting work hours for official government agencies.

Highlighting the rationale behind these adjustments, Prof. Dr. Al-Dhafiri cited directives from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the nation’s senior political leadership. Emphasizing the importance of administrative reform and productivity enhancement, the university aims to foster a culture of commitment to official working hours while introducing a flexible fingerprint system.

This flexible system aims to provide male and female university employees with greater autonomy over their working hours, thereby reducing bureaucratic hurdles and enabling more efficient task completion. Prof. Dr. Al-Dhafiri underscored the importance of prioritizing employee presence and productivity over rigid administrative structures, echoing a sentiment of adaptability prevalent across all Kuwaiti state institutions.

Furthermore, Kuwait University stands at the forefront of practical experimentation among government agencies, consistently evolving to meet societal shifts and demands. The implementation of the flexible fingerprint system aligns with the university’s forward-looking vision, designed to overcome obstacles faced by employees and streamline administrative processes.

In addition to enhancing flexibility, the new system seeks to alleviate administrative burdens associated with attendance and departure procedures, as well as mitigate late penalties resulting from extended working hours.

As Kuwait University embraces these progressive changes, it sets a precedent for organizational adaptation and innovation, positioning itself as a dynamic leader in Kuwait’s educational landscape.
