JOHOR BARU: In a show of solidarity, the Johor non-governmental organisation Southern Volunteers has been deployed to flood-hit areas around the country to boost relief efforts.
Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim said the volunteers were sent to states hit by the natural disaster to assist in relief work.
"I am aware of the flood disaster that has struck six states.
"I have also ordered the Southern Volunteers to be ready to be deployed in flood-affected areas to help with cleaning efforts and the distribution of essential needs.
"Let's pray for the safety and Allah SWT's blessings for all the flood victims," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Dec 19).
