KUALA LUMPUR: MCA's Crisis Relief Squad (CRSM) and party machinery have been mobilised at flood-hit areas across the country to assist those who are affected, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said flood victims who were stranded had been successfully placed at various temporary flood relief centres nearby.
"Volunteers under the CRSM nationwide, as well as party members, have been told to give a 24-hour assistance to flood victims including ensuring sufficient essential needs, protecting their safety and well-being, as well as providing additional boats to support the government agencies’ response," said the Transport Minister in a statement on Monday (Dec 20).
Dr Wee also advised volunteers to observe all the standard operating procedures (SOP) when helping flood victims to avoid any unwanted incidents.
"I just want to remind all our volunteers to also take extra precautions to ensure their own safety and adhere to the Health Ministry’s SOP when helping flood victims," he said.
He also applauded all CRSM members for their continuous help and pray for the safety of flood victims.
