KUANTAN: Households affected by the recent floods in Pahang do not have to pay their water bills for three months starting from January.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said an RM1.5mil had been allocated for this, which would benefit about 40,000 households.
“We hope the exemption will help ease flood victims' woes, especially after washing and cleaning up their homes which were affected by the natural disaster,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 26).
Pahang was hit by floods from Dec 17 and recovered fully from the disaster on Jan 11. A total of 67,878 people were affected in 10 districts.
The districts affected were Bentong, Raub, Lipis, Temerloh, Jerantut, Bera, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin. – Bernama
