KUALA LUMPUR: Armed Forces personnel have been deployed to assist flood operations especially in badly affected areas, says Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein (pic).

       The Defence Minister said among those who were already in the field are personnel and assets from Brigade 11 and Brigade 2.

       "They are deployed to assist flood victims in Selangor especially in Klang, Sepang, Damansara and Bukit Lanchong.

       "The Armed Forces is also ready to expand aid operation at other areas, which have the potential to be badly affected," he said in a Facebook post.

       The Armed Forces and the people were inseparable, the senior minister said.

       "I hope the public will always stay vigilant and prioritised their safety.

       "Avoid areas that have been flooded and relocate to relief centres when instructed to do so.

       "Always abide by the SOP and let us all pray that the flood situation will improve soon," he added.
