PETALING JAYA: Sin Chew Daily journalist Wong Kian Yong (pic) was issued a compound notice for allegedly flouting the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) by Health Ministry enforcement officers.

The 42-year-old was covering the nomination process at the Dewan JKR Johor Baru, which was the nomination centre for the Larkin state seat.

Wong said he was given the RM1,000 compound notice for allegedly failing to maintain physical distancing when he approached a candidate for his personal details.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Gazette video editor Khairulanuar Yahaya, 47, was also given a final warning for allegedly flouting the Covid-19 SOPs.

The Health Ministry enforcement team, comprising five members, left the nomination centre soon after issuing the compound notice.
