PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry has ordered the police to take immediate action on individuals caught flouting Home Surveillance Orders (HSO) via MySejahtera check-ins at premises.

       Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said check-ins made by those under the HSO will be detected on the MySejahtera app, and the Health Ministry has been instructed to forward the details of these individuals to the police.

       "The police will carry out real-time enforcement on the field. They will mobilise to the premises that were identified," he said during a press conference on Facebook live on Friday (Sept 24).

       Hamzah also warned that premises found to allow the patronage of individuals under HSO will not be spared from punishment.

       These individuals and premises, if caught, will be fined by the police according to the present law, he added.

       Hamzah noted there were as many as 523 check-ins by individuals under HSO detected recently.

       "Out of the figure, 18% of cases were detected at supermarkets."

       Meanwhile, Hamzah said the compliance operations dubbed "Ops Patuh" had carried out 1,843,856 compliance inspections across the country from June 25 to Sept 23 at 178,266 factories, 79,974 construction sites, 1,565,649 business premises and 24,967 at hostels.

       He said 7,410 compounds and 4,440 premises were ordered to shut as a result.

       "We want to be free from this virus and we request everyone to abide by standard operating procedures (SOP) by the National Security Council (NSC) and Health Ministry," he said.
