PETALING JAYA: Despite experiencing Covid-19 symptoms, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein says he is currently in good condition.

       The Defence Minister said he had tested positive for Covid-19 and was ordered to undergo compulsory isolation in accordance with the stipulations under the Infectious Diseases Control Act.

       “To ensure that my health continues to be at a satisfactory level, I have been advised to undergo isolation at Tuanku Mizan Armed Forces Hospital for treatment and monitoring.

       "I have received many messages of greetings and prayers since Tuesday (Feb 22).

       “I apologise for not being able to reply to all of them.

       “But on behalf of my family members, I really appreciate and thank all those who cared and prayed for my recovery,” he said in a statement Wednesday (Feb 23).

       In a statement Tuesday, the Defence Ministry said Hishammuddin had been ordered to undergo self-quarantine.

       "The Office of the Senior Minister of Defense would like to inform that Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has tested positive for Covid-19.

       "As an individual who has received a booster dose, he will undergo an isolation period in accordance with current regulations by the Health Ministry.

       "He has been taking Covid-19 detection tests of the RT-PCR type periodically in addition to regularly performing self-detection tests through the RTK Antigen method.

       "He will continue to monitor and conduct appropriate duties throughout the period of isolation," the earlier statement read.

       Alhamdulillah, walaupun alami gejala namun buat masa ini saya dalam keadaan baik. Bagi memastikan tahap kesihatan saya terus berada pada tahap memuaskan, saya telah dinasihatkan agar menjalani isolasi di Hospital Angkatan Tentera Tuanku Mizan bagi tujuan rawatan dan pemantauan.
