A MAN who died after allegedly being poisoned was found foaming at the mouth during a drinking session, it has been claimed.

       Karl Edgeller, aged in his 50s, reportedly downed pure ethanol during the horror at a home in Weeting, Norfolk, on Sunday night.

       He was sadly declared dead at the scene, while his pal was rushed to hospital.

       Two men aged in their 40s and 50s have now been arrested on suspicion of poisoning but have been released on bail.

       Tributes have now flooded in for "nice guy" grandad Karl, who had a grown-up daughter.

       He was said to have been a former plant operator, welder and fitter but had not worked recently due to problems with his back.

       One villager who asked not to be named said: “They got this drink from a friend who said it was 97 per cent ethanol.

       “The friend said that you had to water it down to drink it, and apparently they didn’t. They just drank it.

       “Karl started foaming at the mouth and [the injured pal] was feeling pretty bad as well, so someone at the house dialled 999.”

       It is not known if the ethanol was distilled or brewed as a high strength homemade “moonshine”, or bought as a ready made substance.

       Norfolk Police confirmed Karl's death is being treated as "unexplained" and said a post mortem would be carried out in the coming days.

       A statement said: "Officers were called by the ambulance service at 10.30pm on Sunday 3 March to reports that two men in their 50s were seriously unwell at a property on Hereward Way.

       "Emergency services attended and, sadly, one man was pronounced dead at the scene.

       "The second man was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged."
