KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic police rushed to the aid of three people who were trapped in a flash flood in the city.
City Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Asst Comm Sarifudin Mohd Salleh said the victims were almost swept away by strong currents in the Klang river at around 3.20pm on Sunday (Aug 15).
"We received information that a man, a woman and a child were trapped in the Klang river, near Jalan Kuching, following a flash flood.
"All three of them were rescued at the site. The victims told police that they were fishing at the time but did not notice the water rising quickly," he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 16).
