KUALA LUMPUR: My E.G. Services Bhd (MYEG) has received the green light from the Health Ministry (MOH) to deploy Breathonix's BreFence Go COVID-19 Breath Test System (BreFence Go) as an alternative COVID-19 screening method at the country's entry points, including international airports.
The company said its sub-subsidiary MYEG Medical Services Sdn Bhd had received a letter from MOH dated Dec 8, 2021, to allow the deployment of BreFence Go, following the government’s prevailing policies and guidelines.
"BreFence Go will be used for mass screening, from which any positive COVID-19 results detected will be required subsequently to undergo a reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test as further validation,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it said, the deployment of BreFence Go was expected to contribute positively to the earnings per share and net assets per share of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022, and onwards.
To recap, MYEG said in a bourse filing on Nov 25, 2021, that MYEG Medical had received a notification from the Medical Device Authority under MOH on its concurrence for the use of BreFence Go for mass screening in accordance with the prevailing national protocols and guidelines on COVID-19 infection control. - Bernama
