MELAKA: A 19-year-old private college student was conned out of RM10,000 that he allegedly had to pay as “deposit” for a sexual service advertised online.

       Melaka Commercial Crime deputy chief Deputy Supt Azmi Aziz said the student had come across an advertisement offering the service on Twitter on March 12.

       “He agreed to engage the service offered by the syndicate at RM300 for a two-hour session,” he said, adding that he was told to meet the prostitute at 1pm that day.

       He said the student then got a call to deposit RM10,000 as collateral.

       The student transferred the sum into a bank account provided but after waiting fruitlessly for hours, he realised he had been conned and lodged a report.
