MELAKA: A state executive councillor is touched by offers of help from people after messages of him "asking" for money started circulating on social media.
However, Melaka works, transport, public infrastructure and flood mitigation committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman urged the public to ignore the message as his Telegram account had been hacked.
“I have received a number of calls from people who were willing to help me but please do not entertain any request supposedly made by me. My account has been hacked,” he said when interviewed on Wednesday (March 23).
Meanwhile, Melaka Commercial Crime chief Supt E. Sundra Rajan said a police report had been lodged by Rahmad’s aide.
He said the messages sent out by those allegedly behind the scam said Rahmad needed money as there was a problem with his bank account.
“We will investigate based on the report made,” said Supt Sundra Rajan.
