JOHOR BARU: The swearing-in of the Johor Mentri Besar has yet to be carried out 48 hours after Barisan Nasional's thumping victory in the state.
The uncertainty has led to various speculation of the choice of MB by the media.
The speculation has been rife after Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his deputy Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan were seen going to the Johor Palace at about 3.15pm on Monday (March 14).
Barisan has always maintained that former mentri besar Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad was expected to return to power, as he was touted as the coalition's poster boy and MB candidate in this election.
The uncertainty has led to former state executive councillor Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi being speculated as a possible candidate for the state's top post.
Barisan won a total of 40 seats followed by 16 seats from the Opposition.
