PETALING JAYA: Authorities should revoke the fully-vaccinated status of those who fraudulently obtained it, says the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).
MMA president Dr Koh Kar Chai also urged authorities to take action against healthcare personnel involved and those who bought fake vaccine certificates.
"Authorities should remove the vaccinated status immediately upon receiving proof that it has been obtained fraudulently," he said.
Dr Koh added that authorities should act quickly to remove incidences of fraud to avoid an erosion of public confidence.
There had been reports of fake vaccination certificates being sold by unscrupulous parties.
A private clinic in Selangor that was selling fake vaccination certificates for RM500 was raided by the police while in Kota Baru, four people including the operator of the clinic were arrested by the police for falsifying Covid-19 vaccination cards.
On Jan 20, the Health Ministry said investigations revealed that many cases were linked to those under the Private Purchase Vaccination programme.
