KOTA KINABALU: The Covid-19 booster dose can now be obtained for free at government medical facilities for those over 40, says Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.

Issuing the reminder for those in Sabah who had yet to get their booster shots, he said besides vaccination centres (PPVs), government hospitals and clinics, the booster shots were also available at private clinics appointed by the Health Ministry.

"Those who received their second dose of Pfizer six months ago, or three months after receiving their second dose of Sinovac are encouraged to get their booster shot," he said on Friday (Nov 12).

Meanwhile, Sabah recorded 611 new infections on Friday, up 32 cases from 579 previously.

Kota Kinabalu was the district with the highest record of new cases at 95, and no new cluster was reported on Friday.

Masidi said the sporadic cases from the symptomatic screenings remain high at 39.8% (243 cases), which were linked to failure to adhere to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

"Almost 97% of Friday’s cases are in Category 1 and Category 2, which only need treatment and monitoring at home or at quarantine centres," he added.
