In October 2021, his body was found inside a freezer at the derelict Simpsons Wine Bar in Forest Gate, East London.

The Met today confirmed a suspect has been arrested, with another person interviewed under caution.

No further details were released but the update came after Scotland Yard offered a £20,000 reward for information.

Det Chief Insp Kelly Allen, of Scotland Yard's Specialist Crime Command, also confirmed Roy had suffered rib injuries.

She said officers have spoken with his extended family to provide a picture of the pensioner.

Speaking on BBC's Crimewatch Live today, DCI Allen added: "It has been really challenging because of the passage of time.

"We haven't been able to fully identify what has actually killed him.

"I think that there is a strong possibility that he was killed and then placed into the freezer in the basement of that pub."
