KUALA LUMPUR: RapidRail Kelana Jaya Line train frequencies are expected to improve by August as more trains will be fixed, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

       The Transport Minister added that the frequency will be improved from the current timing that could reach up to eight minutes between trains to at least five minutes in August.

       “Subsequently, we hope to achieve our target of the ideal frequency of three minutes in November,” he said on Thursday (June 16).

       Dr Wee was speaking to the media after the launch of Phase One of the MRT Putrajaya Line.

       The minister also added that the reduction of frequency was due to some train sets having to go through maintenance as part of preventive measures.

       “For the safety of our commuters, we’re taking this measure to avoid worse incidents in the future,” he added.
