THINKING out of the box has its sweet rewards as fruit vendor Ahmad Fauzan Shamsul recently discovered.
“Raising money to get married!” is what a signage on a placard by his fruit stall reads.
In an attempt to attract buyers, he said: “I am doing this to raise money for my wedding expenses, it is not a gimmick or marketing tactic to drive sales.”
The 25-year-old is planning to get engaged after Hari Raya Aidilfitri before getting hitched by the end of this year, reported Harian Metro.
Ahmad Fauzan, who hails from Taman Satria, Senawang, said the idea to craft the “advertisement” came spontaneously while he was carrying out sales at a site in Bandar Seri Putra, Bangi, recently.
Another ad reads: “Working bro! There’s an angel that I want to marry.”
> The price for buka puasa buffets in Klang Valley will go up by 10% this Ramadan.
Sinar Harian reported the spike in prices was mainly due to the rise in prices of goods and other operational costs.
Grand Barakah Hotel executive director General Datuk Seri Razali Md Sham said the price for buka puasa buffets at his hotel in Ampang was RM90 last year but will be priced at RM118 this year.
Many have started to make their bookings, especially on premises that offer discounts.
Shahril, a marketing officer at a hotel in Section 14, said the hotel he works at is offering promotional prices for early bookings.
He said several dates in the first week of Ramadan were already fully booked.
> Once reliant only on his earnings as a street performer, Indonesian singer Tegar Septian hopes that his achievements at the Big Stage 2022 competition will help him to further improve his work.
Utusan Malaysia reported the 21-year-old singer as saying that being a street performer is not something he is embarrassed of but he wishes to start his own business in order to better provide for his family.
“I am not sure about others but for me, being a street performer is a serious job and I am grateful that it helps me earn money.
“It’s not that much, if from 7am to 6pm, the most I ever get is RM100 a day. That is why I want to realise my plans and start a business,” he said.
Tegar clinched fifth place in the Big Stage 2022 competition, and won RM10,000.
