PETALING JAYA: The current Dewan Rakyat sitting is still in session despite the nomination day for the Melaka polls.
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said he attended the sitting to fulfil his responsibilities as an MP and Transport Minister.
“Many MPs are still in Melaka to help the candidates from their respective parties. I just attended another weekly committee meeting at the Parliament block,” he said in a Facebook post on Monday (Nov 8).
In a picture uploaded by Dr Wee, the Dewan Rakyat seems empty with only a handful of MPs present.
The Melaka state assembly was dissolved on Oct 4, after four assemblymen withdrew their support for chief minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.
Polling day will be on Nov 20, while early voting will take place on Nov 16.
