SEREMBAN: After four years of running the state, Negri Sembilan’s Pakatan Harapan government says it has fulfilled 95% of the pledges in its manifesto for the last polls.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said 71 pledges were made, which included introducing an open tender system, increasing foreign direct investment (FDI), converting leasehold titles for households to permanent ones, and not increasing quit rent and assessment rates for five years.

“We have been prudent in managing our finances and as at Dec 31, 2021, the state’s reserves totalled RM734mil.

“Since then, we have also managed to secure FDIs totalling RM23.5bil, which helped create 17,227 jobs,” he said in a Facebook post.

Aminuddin said the state government had also allocated RM3mil annually for private tahfiz centres and vernacular schools, and provided free bus services in several areas. Some 4,500 single mothers were also given RM200 payment annually, while undergraduates from B40 families received RM100 each month to help with their expenses.

Aminuddin said 2,491 individuals with special needs have also had their monthly allowances increased from RM140 to RM200.

“We had also introduced the Tabung Pembangunan Usahawan Negri Sembilan with a total allocation of RM15mil which had benefited 5,147 small entrepreneurs.

“Then, there was also the Power House Wanita Gemilang initiative, where funds were allocated to help 26,170 women upgrade their skills to enable them to complement their household income,” he added.

Aminuddin said the monthly allowances for 1,500 Kafa (Al-Quran and fardu ain) teachers and bilal (muezzins) were also raised from RM900 to RM950, and from RM200 to RM500, respectively.

Mosque caretakers saw their allowance raised from RM200 to RM450.

Aminuddin said the state government had also succeeded in reviving the Taman Perpaduan Heights housing project in Kuala Pilah that was abandoned almost 20 years ago.
