ALOR SETAR: Leading the country out of the health and economic crises caused by the Covid-19 pandemic must be the priority of the new Cabinet, says Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor (pic).

       The Kedah Mentri Besar said the state government has full confidence in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his Cabinet to address the issues it faces efficiently and effectively.

       "I understand that the current situation is difficult and loaded with challenges. We expect the line-up of the ‘Malaysian Family’ Cabinet can work vigorously towards achieving the goals determined by the Prime Minister,” said Muhammad Sanusi on Friday (Aug 27).

       "Priority should be given to quickly lead the country out of the health and economy crises due to the pandemic that began almost two years ago,” he added.

       Muhammad Sanusi said that he also hopes for the relationship between Kedah and Putrajaya to be strengthened over time.

       Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced his revenue-oriented Cabinet line-up at Perdana Putra, which he said is a re-formulation based on the current situation, for the sake of maintaining stability and putting the interests and safety of the Malaysian Family first.

       Ismail Sabri was sworn in as Malaysia’s ninth Prime Minister before Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at Istana Negara last Saturday (Aug 21).
