Jleeb, and Mahboula focus of ongoing campaigns

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 12: The Kuwaiti government, under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, has intensified its campaign against residency violators and the illegal residency trade. The Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Public Authority for Manpower and the Public Authority for Civil Information, has begun collecting data on individuals who have been arrested or deported for residency violations, as well as other irregular workers. The focus is also on identifying and penalizing their sponsors or the companies that employed them.

According to government sources, companies found engaging in the illegal residency trade will be blacklisted, preventing them from any future dealings related to residency. Their files will be permanently closed with the Ministry of Manpower, and they will face penalties, fines, and legal prosecution. These measures are part of a broader effort to modify the demographic structure in Kuwait and enforce the law against those violating residency regulations.

The Ministry of Interior aims to deter individuals and companies from continuing the illegal residency trade and other related activities. Ongoing campaigns will target areas with high concentrations of workers, including Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Mahboula, to arrest and deport violators after the grace period for amending their status expires.

A recent field survey by the Civil Information Department revealed that thousands of residency violators, who have been in the country for years without specific employment, are not residing at the addresses registered in the Authority’s records. The government is committed to continuing these efforts to address the issue and enforce the law nationwide.
