Speaking to reporters about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the US President appeared to be reminiscing back to the year he beat Donald Trump in the Presidential election. While speaking about the present year, Biden claimed it was actually the year 2020.

       He said: “There's a lot of reason to be hopeful in 2020.

       “But for God's sake, please take advantage of what is available.”

       Biden, 79, is the oldest ever President in American history.

       He has a reputation for making gaffes and misspeaking throughout his decades long political career including during his presidency.

       In several instances, he has referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as 'President Harris'.

       In another example from June last year, Biden referred to Russian President Vladmir Putin as President Trump.

       He also appeared to claim that computers could talk during a speech in October last year and struggled to pronounce the name of the Long Beach port chief.

       At the COP26 climate conference in November he appeared to fall asleep during proceedings.

       A few weeks later he struggled to read from a teleprompter during a speech as he mistakenly read “end of quote” out loud.

       Donald Trump lambasted the US president as “mentally shot” during the 2020 Presidential Election.

       However, even amongst allies there are concerns about the president’s mental capabilities.

       A recent Politico/Morning Consult poll found that 50 percent of registered voters disagreed with the statement: ‘Joe Biden is in good health.’

       That same poll revealed that 49 percent disagree that ‘Joe Biden is mentally fit’.

       According to a Havard Harris poll, 53 percent of voters have doubts about Biden’s fitness for office and 58 percent felt he was too old to be President.

       Many Democrats are sceptical about Biden’s claim that he will run for a second term in 2024.
