Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams predicted that Prince Charles will bring his own style to the role of monarch and King. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Fitzwilliams remarked that Prince Charles will behave differently from how he does now and behave differently from the Queen. He said Prince Charles will do his duties as king and is aware he cannot be as active on issues that he is passionate about, like the environment.

       Mr Fitzwiliams said: "Prince Charles won't remain like the Queen in the sense that the monarchy, like any institution, moves on.

       "It changes as society changes and it is important that it doesn't fall behind society in those various changes.

       "The Queen has a particular style, Charles has got his own style.

       "He knows perfectly well that he cannot be an activist King and his role when he becomes King will be exactly the same constitutionally as the Queen's.

       "He will observe all of the various things in this regard, the speeches from the throne, the signing of bills, weekly audiences with the Prime Minister.

       "I cannot see any real change there but he will bring his own personality.

       "Obviously we know what he thinks on certain issues but being the Prince of Wales is one thing but it is totally different, he has created his own role.

       "As King, it is totally different."

       Mr Fitzwilliams also reflected on what Prince William would be like during his reign as King.

       Unlike his father, the royal expert claimed, the Duke of Cambridge is likely to take more inspiration from the Queen.

       Mr Fitzwilliams said: "We know that Prince William derives inspiration from the Queen.

       "Prince William is inspired by the way that the Queen handles things.

       "It is a question of as society changes, the monarchy changes with society.

       "To some extent, the Royal Family reflects those changes but obviously there is a certain mystique to it, a cache to it.

       "I am sure that Prince William will honour that, we know that the Queen is his inspiration.

       "I don't think you could find a better inspiration, it wouldn't be possible."
