KUALA LUMPUR: More than 740 million units of Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd’s (ASNB) global equity fund, ASN Equity Global, have been subscribed by more than 14,000 investors since it was first offered on Sept 1, 2021, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) president and group chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn said.
ASNB is a wholly-owned unit trust management company of PNB.
He said the fund was launched after ASNB’s first global fund, Imbang 3, received positive responses from investors with two billion units were subscribed.
"It (ASN Equity Global) is the first ASNB fund that focuses entirely on global equities, offering all Malaysians the opportunity to diversify their investments in the international market,” he said during the virtual launch of Minggu Saham Digital 2021 (MSD 2021) today.
He said the fund is heavily focused on global public equities with asset allocation of up to 99 per cent in global equities on 60 major global stock markets.
Ahmad Zulqarnain said ASN Equity Global is ASNB’s effort to introduce a contemporary investment concept that met the objective of investors who wanted to gain returns through the global equity market.
"This fund is also suitable for investors who have higher risk tolerance and seek higher returns in the long run,” he added.
The launch of the fund was officiated by PNB group chairman Tun Arifin Zakaria with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob appearing in a special video message.
MSD 2021, themed #LaburBersama, will be held between November 17 until November 23 with activities aiming to educate and enhance public understanding on savings and investment in an edutainment format whilst showcasing PNB’s portfolio of companies and their business operations. - Bernama
