The D.C. medical examiner’s office reported that the victim, a man, had been shot multiple times.
Police said a person helping search for a missing teenager found the remains of the man shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Fairlawn Avenue SE. A police report said there was a heavy stick across the top of the trash can. When the person moved it, they found a body part.
The police report says the victim had a white phone charger on him. A police spokesman said the dead man was not the missing person being sought.
