JOHOR BARU: After being away from her family for over a year, Vivian Tee Hwee Wee finally found her chance to embrace her loved ones once again.

The 26-year-old daughter of Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, who is an adviser to the Johor Mentri Besar, received a grand welcome from her family who had been waiting eagerly for her at the Larkin Sentral Bus and Public Transportation Terminal here,

Her father, brothers Lee Chan and Lee Rui, as well as their mother Datin Lee Choon Guek, greeted Hwee Wee with a flower bouquet.

The trade executive based in Singapore received warm hugs from her family members as she walked out of the arrival hall of the Vaccinated Travel Lane for land crossing (VTL-Land) yesterday.

“I miss my family dearly and I was really looking forward to this moment.

“My journey from Singapore was smooth and I am glad that I am finally back in Johor again,” said Hwee Wee, adding that she was also looking forward to having her favorite curry noodles from a restaurant in Johor Jaya.

Tee, who is also Pontian MCA chief, said he was glad that his daughter as well as other Malaysians working in the republic could once again return home to their loved ones.

“As a father, I understand the feelings of other parents whose children have been away for so long.

“I am glad that families can now reunite through the VTL-Land initiative,” he said.
