KOTA KINABALU: More grassroot leaders and members of Parti Warisan have left the party following Datuk Peter Anthony’s resignation recently.
Among them were Warisan Keningau division vice-chief Jickol Tagua, deputy division chief Julimah Anggula and Keningau Wirawati chief Fadilla Lasmin.
“We left in support of Peter’s move to quit Warisan and to form a new party,” Jickol said yesterday.
He said their decision was based on their own choice and not due to pressure from anyone or any parties.
Several leaders of the Kota Marudu division led by its information chief Barlus Mangabis had also left Warisan.
Others were the Matunggong division secretary and Wira chief Herwin Maranjak and deputy communications chief Jimis Monunsui.
Previously, division leaders and members from Tenom and Sepanggar left the party which was seen as a boost for Peter, the Melalap assemblyman, who is forming a new Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-friendly party.
Besides Peter, Limbahau assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim had also quit Warisan.
