17-year-old homicide victim found outdoors in Germantown, police say

       A 17-year-old with an “infectious smile” was found slain outdoors in Germantown on Monday, officials said.

       The body of Jailyn Jones was discovered about 3 p.m. along the 18900 block of Grotto Lane, just off Great Seneca Highway, officials said Tuesday. He was a senior at Northwest High School.

       “For those of you who knew Jailyn we ask that you remember and celebrate his life,” principal Scott E. Smith wrote in a letter to Northwest parents on Tuesday. “He had a large personality, infectious smile, and overall amazing spirit. For those of you who did not know Jailyn, we ask that you respect our sadness and support us with your understanding.”

       Police officials did not release any more details of their investigation.
