The desperate Lib Dems have been flooding Conservative voters with adverts (Image: Getty )
The Liberal Democrats are so hungry for votes at the General Election they have reportedly been attempting to bombard voters in traditionally Conservative seats with a mountain of digital adverts.
Party sources claimed they had reached "two million" people in Tory constituencies dubbed the "blue wall" where heavyweight political figures like the Chancellor Jeremy Hunt have huge support.

In a last throw of the dice before the election on Thursday, Sir Ed Davey's party is reportedly hoping to sway people to put a cross by the Lib Dems on the ballot paper.
But with Mr Hunt holding a majority of nearly 9,000 at the last election in his South West Surrey seat, it might be an uphill struggle for the Liberal Democrats to shift the Chancellor.
However, a party source told the Independent "blue wall" seats were a key target and voters were receiving around eight adverts urging them to switch allegiance.

READ MORE: Don't usher in a Labour government if you believe in conservative values [REPORT ]

They said: "It’s vital in these final few days of the campaign that voters know that they need to vote Liberal Democrat to kick out the Conservatives in seats where we’re the main challengers.
"The results in many of these seats will be really close, it could come down to just a few hundred votes.
"The difference between the Conservatives clinging on and suffering a historic defeat will come down to how many people vote tactically in these seats and lend us their vote on the day."
Mr Hunt has conceded he will face a tough fight this election, with perhaps the result being decided by as few as 1,500 votes, but he remains defiant in the face of Labour and challenged Sir Keir Starmer and Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves to rule out tax hikes.

In a letter to the Labour grandees, Mr Hunt wrote it was "vital people can plan their finances", adding that he was "setting out the five tax cuts that will be in the first fiscal event of a new Conservative government, and that will all be effective from next April".
He continued: “Throughout this campaign, while you have consistently said that you have no plans for taxes rises beyond those set out in your manifesto, you have refused to rule out explicitly a range of further tax rises, including on people’s homes, savings and pensions.
“Can you therefore confirm that, should Labour win the next General Election, in your first fiscal event you will not include any tax rises beyond those set out in your manifesto?”
