A MUM who was found with a gunshot wound at her home in Dublin has tragically died.

       Cops investigating the incident fear Sandra Boyd, 36 was shot "accidentally" at her home in Finglas East.

       The mum-of-five was shot with a pistol at around 8.40 last night at the back of her house, RTE reported.

       Even though she was rushed to the Mater Hospital, doctors couldn't save her life and she was pronounced dead shortly after.

       Her heartbroken family have paid tribute to the 36-year-old with her sister Megan saying: “Sisters are forever, but mine was taken right before our eyes.

       “Sandra Boyd you are my big sister that I adored every piece of you.

       “If I knew my goodbye in the airport was forever I would of never let you go.

       “I will hold your boys and baby girl as tight as you always did. Your love was endless. I love you so much.”

       Her partner Darren Noonan said “she was my world. I’m heartbroken”, and added “love you forever” in a social media post Sandra was tagged in.

       Today the woman's home has been sealed off as forensics are examining the scene.

       The outlet reports that there were a number of people at the house at the time as cops are trying to track some of them down.

       No arrests have been made so far but the investigation is ongoing.

       A firearm was recovered and sent for ballistic tests.

       Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information as well as anyone with CCTV, mobile and dash-cam footage.
