Princess Kate showed how easily she can switch into mum mode during an engagement in London this morning. Stepping out alongside Prince William, the 43-year-old visited London's Natural History Museum for her first engagement after her summer break.
Kate and William, both 43, have been away from royal duties since July, with the couple spending their summer break with Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis. Earlier today, the couple visited the museum's newly transformed gardens and met with schoolchildren using the space as an outdoor classroom. Although Kate and William arrived to the museum in complete sunshine, the rain soon took over. The downpour provided a glimpse into what Kate is like as a mum to George, Charlotte and Louis.

Kate was seen during the visit chatting to the children and, at one point, she was seen helping to bring the children indoors.
She was then seen bending down to keep one girl covered with her umbrella while reaching an arm out to guide her.

"Princess Kate was in amongst us and said, 'Let them go in,' and 'Let's take them inside, it's pouring.'"
The royal has often spoken openly about her love for spending time outdoors - and she likely didn't mind some rain during her royal outing.
The mum-of-three previously revealed that she's a fan of cold swimming - even going for it when the weather isn't great.
