PETALING JAYA: One of the main missions in the establishment of the Utar Hospital is to train and produce more medical professionals in the country, says MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister, in his Facebook posting, said he was confident of the big potential and bright future of the Utar Hospital and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre (TCM) in the medical field.

"MCA is working hard to develop Utar hospital that combines modern and traditional Chinese medicine with the aim to provide the best medical services with a reasonable fee, which will benefit the people, especially those in the B40 group," he said.

Dr Wee said this after officiating the reopening of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre earlier on Monday (May 30) morning.

He congratulated the Malaysian Chinese Medical Association (MCMA) on their continuous efforts to provide high quality traditional Chinese medicine to people from all walks of life.

"MCA, through several former ministers, have provided contributions to the TCM, which has a 70-year-old history from its applications for land grant and financial assistance.

"I was informed that a total of 2.5 million medicinal services have been provided for the community since the centre was built in 1954," he said.
